Start at the City Plaza

Kick off your Western Lights journey at Reno City Plaza, the perfect gateway to the festival’s glowing installations and interactive exhibits. Located in the heart of downtown, this lively plaza offers easy access to the surrounding blocks, with volunteers on hand to share maps, answer questions, and guide you to must-see displays.

Make Reno City Plaza your first stop to immerse yourself in the energy and excitement of the illuminated art, then venture out to discover the wonders that line the nearby streets and riverwalk.

This year we’re offering two exclusive VIP experiences for those wanting something extra. VIP passes unlock The Lumen Lounge at City Plaza and black light bowling at the iconic National Bowling Stadium. Enjoy cozy vibes, playful activities, and surprise moments while supporting this free community festival.

Where to park

Downtown garages and surface lots offer paid parking options, and limited street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan to arrive early or consider carpooling to reduce congestion. 

  • Washoe County Courthouse Lot will be PAID Parking – $15/night,,, 100% of proceeds go to support the non-profit and free community event.
