Luka Starm3r

Luka Starmer is a multimedia artist, VR specialist, and digital storyteller based in Reno, Nevada. Originally from upstate New York, Starmer moved to Reno in 2015 to pursue an MA in Journalism at the Reynolds School of Journalism, focusing on immersive storytelling and multimedia production. Currently serving as Manager of Student Digital Media Technology at University of Nevada, Reno Libraries’ @One Digital Media and Technology Center, he specializes in virtual reality, 360-degree video production, 3D scanning, and innovative multimedia approaches to preserve moments, objects, and memories.

Starmer’s work spans cultural preservation, medical education innovation, and street art documentation. Notable projects include leading the Reno Street Art Project documenting murals across the city in 360-degree VR, 3D scanning over 100 rare Native American baskets for virtual museum exhibits (including Dat So La Lee’s million-dollar basket), and creating immersive VR medical training simulations for nursing and medical students. He has partnered with Art Spot Reno, the Nevada Historical Society, and Vuze camera technology. Additionally, Starmer contributes to Double Scoop arts publication, DJs at parties, and creates videos exploring the intersection of technology and storytelling.
