Nick ‘Squid’ Kohut is a Reno-based DJ, filmmaker, and creative producer who has been spinning tracks in clubs, renegades, underground festivals, and at Burning Man since 2022. Before transitioning to the decks, Squid spent a decade as a club photographer and videographer, documenting Reno’s electronic music scene. After moving to Reno and befriending local collectives like House Party and The Biggest Little Tribe, he naturally progressed from behind the camera to behind the decks, bringing his artistic sensibility to curated sets that tell stories through carefully selected music.

Squid’s artistic background—spanning film, photography, and music production—infuses each of his DJ sets with a creative vision cultivated over years in the scene. The creator of SquidBridge, a system for continuously recording live events, Squid balances his roles as Technical Director at TRADEMARK and resident artist in Reno’s underground dance music community. From Burning Man fundraisers to sold-out club nights and underground campouts, Squid pours countless hours into digging, curating, and seamlessly mixing tracks that move both body and soul.
