Obi Wan Solo
Obi-Wan Solo is a post-doctoral cellular biologist by day and self-described “house music spliceosome” by night. Originally from Detroit, he now calls Reno home where he serves as a radio host for the electronic music show “phosphor” on KWNK 97.7 FM. Drawing inspiration from classic Motown grooves and the pioneering industrial techno of Detroit’s Belleville 3, Obi-Wan bridges modern driving house and techno with old school soul.
What started as mixing tracks together to make studying easier has evolved into sharing stages with acts like Sage Armstrong, Will Clarke, Mark Farina, and SNBRN. His mission is simple: convince everyone they like house music, they just might not know it yet. He’s performed at Bass Camp and venues ranging from traditional clubs to underground bowling alleys, always bringing the infectious energy that makes him a fixture in Reno’s electronic music scene.
