Micah J

Micah J’s journey started in South Lake Tahoe in 1998, where he initially collected hip-hop records under the name DJ sWiTcH, teaching himself to scratch and mix on Technics turntables. After an unfortunate UV experiment melted most of his vinyl collection, he embraced the house music that was calling to him and fell in love with deep house. A copyright issue prompted him to adopt his real name—Micah, plus his middle initial Jason—forming “micah j,” and he’s been collecting and spinning for over two decades since.

His sound is diverse and dynamic: deep house, deep and dirty breaks, and massive amounts of ghetto funk, making him ready to rock any festival, nightclub, outdoor party, or pool party. Affiliated with NorCal Moontribe, For The Love Of Breaks, Yellow #5, and The Neuroweapon, Micah J brings “a chunk of dirt sprinkled with funk” to every performance, ensuring each set is a new and exciting experience for both the DJ and the dance floor.
