Kram
Mark Maher, known as Kram, is the drummer and co-vocalist of Australian rock band Spiderbait, which has sold over half a million records and maintained enduring live popularity for over two decades. When it came time to cut his solo album “Mix Tape,” Kram had a deceptively simple philosophy: “I wanted it to be like a radio station where all the songs sound like different bands but it’s all played by one person.” The result is a genre-hopping journey that veers from spooky Prince-like soul and storming fuzz rock to melancholic country ballads and funky pop jams.
Beyond Spiderbait, Kram has been part of multiple projects including rock supergroup The Wrights, performing at the 2004 Wave Aid benefit concert for the South-East Asian tsunami. His solo work showcases his ability to play all instruments while maintaining the restless creative energy that’s made him a fixture in Australian rock. With collaborations alongside artists like Jet’s Nic Cester and Tumbleweed’s Richie Lewis, Kram brings decades of rock’n’roll experience and multi-instrumental prowess to every performance.
