Groove Cartel

Groove Cartel is a Reno/Tahoe-based DJ and producer project formed by musician and drummer Cary White, who has performed with Infected Mushroom and Tom Morello. Born in late 2016 with a focus on creating pure, honest dance music, Groove Cartel centers around what Cary considers the most important element in music—the groove. His fresh, high-energy sound fuses house and jungle-inspired rhythms with driving basslines, as showcased in releases like the EP “The Way You Move” and singles including “Back and Forth” and “Glass Heart.”

Groove Cartel’s captivating performances have taken him across the country and abroad to events including Burning Man, EDC, Audio SF, Groove Cruise, and Bass Camp Festival. He’s held residencies at prestigious venues like the Roosevelt, Skybar, and Grafton hotels in Hollywood, California. A fixture in Northern Nevada’s electronic music scene, Groove Cartel has become a regular at Bass Camp Festival and regional events, bringing his infectious energy and groove-forward approach to dancefloors throughout the Reno/Tahoe area.
