Clay McCabe is a Portland, Oregon-based artist and entrepreneur who creates large-scale collaborative sculptures handcrafted from wood, metal, copper, mixed materials, and custom lighting. His notable works include “Fotia the Phoenix,” a fire rooster constructed from redwood, cedar, copper, steel, glass and vine maple by 21 collaborating artists, and “Fios the SeaStallion,” an 11-foot mythical seahorse made with cedar, copper, brass, steel, blown glass, acrylic and LED lights. Both sculptures have been featured at Oregon Country Fair, Global Eclipse Gathering, Lightning in a Bottle, and Portland Winter Light Festival. McCabe also runs Zipper Rescue, a second-generation family business founded by his father in 1993, specializing in DIY zipper repair kits made in Portland.
